2019 Winter Universiade

For 11 days from March 2 to 12, 2019, Krasnoyarsk will become the global center for student winter sports.

First in Russia

Siberia has never before hosted sporting events at this scale. For Krasnoyarsk it is an honor, responsibility and a unique chance to show the world what Siberian spirit and hospitality are all about.

We will host the winter student games that no one has ever seen before. Athletes and guests of the 2019 Winter Universiade will travel to the very heart of Russia to join an exciting sports festival and discover the remote, mysterious and fascinating Siberia.

1.5 Billion Audience

The 29th Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk will welcome more than 3,050 athletes from over 50 countries. They will compete for 76 sets of medals in 11 sports. Audiences of over 110,000 are expected to visit the venues, and more than 15,000 of volunteers will be supporting the operation of the Universiade. 1.5 billion people around the globe will tune in to watch the athletes live. More than 1,000 journalists will travel to Krasnoyarsk to cover the Winter Universiade.
