The 3rd International Cybersecurity Forum CyberV brought together school and university students and professionals.
The student section at the Forum included a panel discussion on the digital ruble. Students with a major in Economic Security whose eyes are already set on their future careers had a chance to visit HR stands from the companies InfoTecs and Positive Technologies, have test interviews and learn about internship and employment opportunities.
Students with a major in Information Security were invited to a five-hour Foresight session from Positive Technologies – PT Education. According to the organizers, the main objective of similar events is to give engineering students a clear understanding of the workings of the information security industry and introduce them to new career paths. Positive Technologies is committed to providing these opportunities as a way of adapting education to the current challenges in the cybersecurity industry, including staff shortage.
On February 16, students of Tomsk universities were invited to a workshop held by a journalist, Deputy of State Duma Evgeny Popov, focused on the modern principles of information hygiene and information security. The journalist shared some secrets of his trade and offered advice on cultivating one’s critical thinking skills and dealing with information attacks.
School students had an opportunity to participate in a unique applied knowledge program Student Demoversion: #PROsecurity where they could explore the world of cyber security with the guidance of TUSUR University and the Perslektivnyi Monitoring company. Participants were invited to complete practical tasks from experts representing the TUSUR Faculty of Security with a focus on engineering tools for information security, special tools for economic security, Internet of Things, AI-assisted deepfake speech generation, CTF, and much more.
Professionals participating in the Forum were offered an array of workshops from Astra Group, Staffcop, InfoTecs, ISB, Positive Technologies, Perspektivnyi Monitoring, designed to promote and hone their skills in information security, provide networking opportunities and exposure to new methods and solutions.
