One in Five Postgraduate Students at TUSUR Came From Overseas

January 21 is the Postgraduate Student Day in Russia.

Every year, the number of international postgraduate students at TUSUR is growing. Today, out of the 376 postgraduate students at our university, 75 came from overseas, representing the best of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Angola, Vietnam, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Cameroon, Cote-d’Ivoire, Mali, Pakistan and Syria.

“TUSUR University is implementing R&D projects in microelectronics and new communication systems, IT and information security, space and biomedicine supported by the Priority 2030 program. Their results are immediately adopted by our industrial partners. The opportunity to join these research teams is a major pull factor for talented graduates from all over the world,” says Tatiana Korotina, Head of Postgraduate Studies at TUSUR.

For example, in 2024, two postgraduate students from Iraq completed their studies and defended their theses with a focus on information security.

The process of postgraduate education may be difficult, but the guidance and deep systemic knowledge that students acquire help them focus on new challenges and trailblazing goals going forward.

In the 2024/2025 academic year, the enrollment competition for postgraduate programs at TUSUR was up to three candidates per once slot, and the postgraduate family of our university gained 90 new members. The most popular programs are those focusing on the priority research areas of electronics, photonics, instrumentation technology, IT and telecommunications.
