Following the assessment of the first year results of the Priority 2030 Program, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education has decided to move TUSUR University to Group 1 of universities in the Territory and/or Industry Leadership category.
Participants of the Priority 2030 Program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia have finally presented their results for the first year since the launch of the Program. After assessment of its results, TUSUR University, which was originally included in Group 2 of grant beneficiaries, was moved to Group 1 of universities in the Territory and/or Industry Leadership category.
“This is a great victory for the Tomsk science! It means more than increased grant support for our research in 2023. It means that what our university does is important for our region, and for our country! TUSUR works closely with the industry to create import-independent technologies and develops national standards for microwave and power electronics, shapes new cooperation models for genome technologies, multi-satellite data transfer systems, and much more,” wrote Rector Viсtor Rulevskiy in his Telegram channel.
Following the assessment, the list of universities receiving the special-purpose part of the Priority 2030 grant was reviewed, with four new universities entering the roster and seven universities, including TUSUR, receiving higher funding for 2023.Thewinnerswillbe grantedadditionalfunding at the total rate of 2.4 billion rubles.
Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valeriy Falkov commented that the Priority 2030 program represents an evolving mechanism that promotes competition and merit-based support of Russian universities. The participants committed to become drivers of the national economy, their respective regions, and the higher education and science of Russia, and many of them indeed have shown outstanding results just one year after the launch of the Program.
Priority 2030 is the largest scale state program in Russian history designed to support Russian universities and drive the competitive quality of Russian education, science and technology. The program was launched on June 24, 2021, and will continue till 2030.
