School Teachers from Tajikistan and Mongolia Complete Professional Development Program at TUSUR

July 25, 2023

Within the framework of the Priority 2030 Program, TUSUR University has organized a professional development program for a group of visiting high school teachers from Tajikistan and Mongolia.

For a week in July, 17 teachers from ten cities from Mongolia and Tajikistan, all qualifying through competitive selection, studied the process of application and admission to a Russian university, learning about the various aspects of preparing international applicants for applying to Russian universities, the e-learning resources at TUSUR, the learning processes and experiences and entrance examinations at the University.

Head of Division of International Cooperation Maria Afanasyeva says that the purpose of the program was to boost the visibility and appeal of Russian education abroad.

“We believe that by raising awareness about the academic opportunities at TUSUR among international school teachers and university instructors we are using one of the most efficient ways to reach out to talented potential students abroad. Given the decline in the mastery of the Russian language and interest toward STEM disciplines, it is vital to stay in touch with teachers who recognize the value of Russian education and who can inspire their students to explore their options. And if they have a first-hand experience of visiting Russian universities and a clear understanding of all the admission procedures, we hope that they can provide guidance for their students as they apply to Russian universities and untap their professional potential,” said Maria Afanasyeva.
