TUSUR Celebrates Radio Day
On May 7, TUSUR celebrated its main professional holiday, the Radio Day. As a traditional part of the RadioBOOM festival, a procession of TUSUR students has marched through the streets of Tomsk singing songs and chanting their faculty mottos. Over 2000 students have joined the celebration.
This year, the theme of the RadioBOOM festival was «TUSUR University for Healthy Living». Each faculty had to style its presentation after sports popular in different countries. The Faculty of Economics has shown Brazilian football and the Faculty of Computer Systems presented Russian ice hockey.
The Radio Day procession was joined by the Rector, faculty and alumni of TUSUR, along with representatives of high-tech partners of the University. In accordance with the tradition, together with the students they have marched through the Lytkina, Nakhimova, Sovetskaya, Uchebnaya and Vershinia Street.
The procession has covered a total of over four kilometers, cheered and organized by animators with loudspeakers. The students chanted mottos of their faculties and celebrated their alma mater in its biggest professional holiday.
The march closed with the traditional Out With The Old! event where over 100 old non-functioning devices were destroyed to make way for new technology spearheaded by the people of TUSUR.
