TUSUR to Create Representative Office in Cameroon

July 28, 2023

Rector of TUSUR Victor Rulevskiy and Head of the Russian Business Center in Cameroon Olga Gogolina have signed a cooperation agreement at the Russia—Africa Summit.

The partnership will focus primarily on promotion of academic opportunities at TUSUR in Cameroon. For that purpose, the parties will be holding various events designed to promote degree programs, innovation projects and other opportunities for students.

The Russian Business Center in Yaoundé, Cameroon, will host a representative center for TUSUR and other universities within the Big Tomsk University, providing guidance for prospective students and holding educational events, roundtable discussions, conferences, expositions, etc.

“Today, students from Cameroon pursue education at TUSUR at all levels, including postgraduate studies, but as evidenced by the discussions at this Summit, cooperation in science and technology between our countries is expanding and now includes space technology and education, and identifies new challenges that we will be able to tackle more efficiently with the support of the Russian Business Center,” said Rector of TUSUR Victor Rulevskiy.

Today, there are eleven Cameroonian students studying at TUSUR, six of them enrolled in 2023. The new Representative Center is expected to boost the number of potential students wishing to apply to TUSUR and to provide additional training both in engineering disciplines and in the Russian language.

As part of his Russia—Africa Summit program, Victor Rulevskiy also joined the work of roundtable discussions: “Russia and Africa: Prospects of Inter-University Cooperation” led by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valeriy Falkov, and "Russia—Africa: Space Technology for Acceleration of Economic Growth and Improvement of the Quality of Life”.
