Winners of the 7th Regional review contest of innovation projects chosen for the federal Program UMNIK have been announced in Tomsk

On the 25–26th of May 2012 the 7th Regional review contest of innovation projects accredited by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology for the federal Program UMNIK (Participant of Youth Science and Innovation Competition) took place in Tomsk city.

The contest was carried out by the Consortium of Tomsk universities on the basis of TUSUR Student Business-Incubator Druzhba within the framework of two major conferences: the All-Russian scientific conference with international participation 'Multifunctional chemical materials and technologies' and the 3d International Research and Practice Conference 'Innovation technologies and economy in engineering'.

The contest judging panel members were representatives of the Consortium of Tomsk universities, founders and chief executives of successfully operating science intensive companies as well as a curator of the program UMNIK in Southern, North-Caucasian and Siberian Federal Districts Vyacheslav O. Demchenko and a representative of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Tomsk region Grigory P. Kazmin.

The Program UMNIK is very popular with undergraduates, postgraduates and young researchers and has been successfully implemented for more than 5 years now. This year the contest judging panel recommended for financing 30 projects, out of which 9 are developed in Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics.

The awards ceremony for the winners is to be held at the end of June 2012 in Tomsk.
