TUSUR Signs Cooperation Agreements with Indonesian Partners

As part of the official visit of the Tomsk Oblast delegation to Indonesia, TUSUR University has formalized its cooperation with the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology.

Representatives of TUSUR joined the work of the Tomsk Oblast relegation in the 13th meeting of the Russia-Indonesia Joint Commission for Trade and Technology Cooperation, headed by the Frist Deputy of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

Memorandum with Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology

In the city of Surabaya, the representatives of TUSUR have signed a memorandum with the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology that will facilitate academic exchanges between the two partners, creation of joint research programs, dual degree programs, and co-organization of conferences and workshops.

One of the top institutions of higher education in Indonesia, it ranks 585th in the QS World University Ranking, and 114th in the QS Asia University Ranking.

The delegation also took the opportunity to visit the representative office of the University of Tomsk that is based in the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology and operates within the framework of the regional project Education Export.

New projects with the Institute of Technology Bandung

Another visit was paid to the Institute of Technology Bandung, a major institution in Indonesia with four campuses across the country. It ranks 256th in the QS World University Ranking.

The Institute has a similar scientific focus to TUSUR – its key competencies lie in mechatronics and aerospace engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, industrial technology, making it a natural priority for the two partners to aim for creation of joint master programs in electrical engineering and nanotechnology, as well as joint scientific schools in microelectronics, telecommunications, robotics and innovation management.

Tomsk to be a hub for scientific and technological cooperation with Indonesia

During the meeting, the Commission discussed the possibility of an agreement for mutual recognition of education and scientific degrees with Indonesia, a potential project for bilateral funding of research, the inclusion of Tomsk universities in Indonesian programs for state-funded mobility, as well as the possibility of creating a set of quotas to support targeted training for Indonesian engineers involved in joint projects with Russian companies.
