Thomson Reuters has published its list of Highly Cited Researchers 2015. The list names nearly 3,000 scientists from around the world whose studies in 21 areas of research were among the top 1 percent most referenced in academic journals from 2003 to 2013, in a total of over 12,000 publications.
The research was carried out and published by the Sociology Department of the Finance University of the Government of the Russian Federation

TUSUR University has long been a leader among Russian universities by the share of international students – according to the QS EECA University Rankings, it ranks second in the category of internationalization, behind only the People’s Friendship University of Russia. And while the majority of international students at TUSUR University traditionally come from the CIS countries, it steadily increases its integration with the wider international academic community by enrolling more students from outside of the CIS.
Starting this year, the course is integrated in the project-based group learning program and is a part of the curriculum of TUSUR students.
On December 15, 2015 MIA Russia Today presented its first national ranking of Russian universities with the most employable graduates and real economy-oriented research. TUSUR University ranked 22nd in the Engineering Universities ranking among the 140 engineering universities of Russia.
On December 14–18, the Tomsk region is hosting the regional WorldSkills Russia competition. Within the competition, TUSUR University organized competition in prototyping – one of the core skills in today’s high-tech production.
In late November, Tomsk and six other cities of Russia held a large-scale Intel Megahackaton competition supported by Microsoft and focusing on the development of Internet of things (IoT) solutions within the framework of the Intel IoT RoadShow. In Tomsk, the competition was co-organized by the Student Business Incubator of TUSUR University.
TUSUR University enacted its new Regulations for Support of International Postdoctoral Researchers, aimed to attract international talent to out their research under the guidance of the top researchers of TUSUR. The support will be provided in the form of grants for research personnel.
On October 21 during its conference in Istanbul, QS University Rankings has announced its results for the EECA region. The ranking reflects the impact of universities in the context of the international university community.
